Challenge Machinery Co. issued a safety bulletin concerning some of their cutters which includes Diamond serial #s 101-2864, and Champion MC, MCPB, MPX, MPC, CRT serial #s 11197-13906 & 91010-94131D using Parker directional valves which can fail during use and cause serious injury.

Here purchase one set of both a knife valve and clamp valve, as both should be replaced or else it is highly recommended to retire the cutter.

We highly encourage getting both valves at once, though you could get one at a time and specify which one to get in the notes section of the order form whether the Knife Valve or the Clamp Valve.

CHALLENGE MACHINERY HAS ISSUED A SAFETY BULLETIN CONCERNING THEIR CUTTERS THAT INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

DIAMOND SERIES - SN: 101 - 2864
CHAMPION MC, MCPB, MPX, MPC, CRT - SN: 11197 - 13906 & SN: 91010 - 94131D

ALL OF THESE CUTTERS HAVE PARKER DIRECTIONAL VALVES THAT CAN FAIL DURING USE. THESE VALVES ARE LOCATED IN THE BOTTOM OF YOUR MACHINE IN THE MIDDLE. THE PARKER VALVES ARE VERY EASY TO IDENTIFY. THERE IS (1) FOR THE KNIFE AND (1) FOR THE CLAMP. THESE VALVES LOOK THE SAME, BUT WORK DIFFERENTLY IN OPERATION. IF THE VALVE FAILS DURING OPERATION, THE KNIFE OR THE CLAMP CAN COME CRASHING DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY, EVEN WITHOUT YOUR FINGERS ON THE CUT BUTTONS, WHICH CAN CAUSE A SIGNIFICANT INJURY TO YOUR OPERATOR.

We have valves to replace the failing Parker valves.
The new valves are manufactured by VICKERS/EATON. Theses valves are Direct Replacement valves for the Parker valves. The valves come ready to install and can be done by anyone who is somewhat mechanical. Step-by-step instructions are included, as well as phone support from OBSOLETE CUTTER PARTS.

The current list price on these replacement valves is $1500.00.

These valves are now on sale for $1350.00/ea - $2700.00 for the set.

You can replace just one valve, but we strongly recommend that both the Knife and the Clamp valve be replaced.
