This gear was predominantly used on Polar 115 CE and Polar 155 CE paper cutters which were built during the 1970s.  This gear is used in the mechanism which changes the "track" on the wide magnetic tape on cutters with the magnetic tape program storage system.  If your original metal and plastic gear has cracked and failed then this replacement gear will work as a direct replacement for the original gear.  This one piece, 15 tooth gear, is accurately machined from aluminum.  It will not crack with age like the original ones eventually do.
